Job summary

TruArc Health is seeking a Specimen Collection Specialist for a remote/part-time role located around Irvine, CA. You will conduct specimen collection and processing at designated sites, maintaining a safe, professional environment for staff and patients.

The role requires EMT certification, a High School diploma, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record. Expect travel within Santa Ana/Orange County and 8 hours per week with day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Confirm and verify patient identification and update the lab system as needed.
• Collect patient specimens using nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal, nasal, or throat swabs.
• Explain collection procedures to patients and answer questions about the process.
• Store and prepare samples for transport.
• Travel to site locations within Santa Ana and/or Orange County.
• Set up and take down the testing site at the start and end of each shift.
• Follow all Laboratory Policies and Procedures and safety protocols (PPE, OSHA).
• Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality is maintained.
• Greet all on-site individuals (employees, patients, visitors).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Specimen Collection Specialist will be conducting specimen collection and processing activities by adhering to all laboratory established practices and procedures at designated collection sites. The Specimen Collection Specialist is responsible in maintaining a safe and professional environment for staff and patients. This position is located in Winston Salem, NC 27103. Days: Tues + Thursday 8am-12pm (facility is flexible on time window). 8 hours a week. Perfect for someone looking to add income.

Essential duties:

• Confirm, verifies patient identification, and make necessary updated on the lab system.
• Collect patient specimens using nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal, nasal, or throat swabs.
• Explains collection procedures to patients and answers any questions about the process.
• Stores and prepares samples for transport.
• Ability to troubleshoot and handle any issues that arise during the collection process.
• Travel to site locations within Santa Ana and/or Orange County.
• Set up and take down the testing site at the beginning and end of each workday.
• Complies with all Laboratory Policies and Procedures.
• Follows all required Safety Protocols (PPE, Universal Precautions, OSHA Standards).
• Ensures that patient privacy and confidentiality is maintained.
• Ensures that site has adequate supplies for continuous operation.
• Greets all incoming individuals at the on-site location (employees, patients, and visitors).
• Other duties as assigned
