Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a part-time Laboratory Assistant for Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT. The role focuses on processing specimens from the ED and other locations, prioritizing stat needs, and delivering samples to the testing lines in a high-paced lab environment.

You will verify specimens, perform accessioning, and ensure accuracy of patient records in the lab information system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Laboratory experience and specimen processing preferred.
• Clinical office experience with medical terminology also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and/or processes specimens using appropriate techniques while maintaining patient and specimen identification.
• Verifies the correct specimen for the requested test and performs accessioning in the computer system.
• Confirms patient records per department guidelines and makes corrections as necessary.
