Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Specification Writer - Level 3 to join our Chandler, AZ team. The role focuses on editing and formatting technical data for manuals, specifications, and procedures in accordance with contract and government standards.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent with 4 years of related experience, strong Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skills, and proficiency in technical/procedural writing.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Comprehensive experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Tech Writing and Tools, Procedural Writing/Editing proficiency.
  • Experience with Change/File Management (PLM) Tools.
  • Must have ability to obtain U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications.
  • Perform word processing and editing of documents with Data Managers, other Word Processors, and program engineers to ensure on-time delivery of data.
  • Perform document workflow tasks using PLM tools to support change management, release, and contractual delivery.
  • Incorporate contractually prescribed markings for managing, sharing, safeguarding, and disseminating technical documents.
  • Conduct DM Review of classified and unclassified engineering analyses.
  • Process new and revised Forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This effort is required for classified and unclassified documents.Essential Functions/Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style.Perform word processing and editing of documents with Data Managers, other Word Processors, and program engineers to ensure on-time delivery of data.Perform document workflow tasks using Project LifeCycle Management (PLM) tools to support change management, release, and contractual delivery of program documentation to the customer.Incorporate contractually prescribed markings for managing, sharing, safeguarding, and disseminating technical documents.Conduct DM Review of classified and unclassified engineering analyses.Process new and revised Forms.Perform other duties as assigned.This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.Basic Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experienceComprehensive experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe AcrobatTech Writing and Tools, Procedural Writing/Editing proficiencyExperience with Change/File Management (PLM) ToolsMust have ability to obtain U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearancePreferred Qualifications:Technical writing skills and tools, procedural writing, and editing experienceAbility to use a broad range of software applications and conversion tools to access and integrate technical documentation. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
