Job summary

VCA Seaside Animal Hospital in New York is seeking an experienced Specialty Veterinary Technician to provide high-quality care and support to patients while educating their families. The role involves hands-on responsibilities including patient monitoring and advanced diagnostics, in a collaborative environment centered around continuous learning.

Ideal candidates will be credentialed veterinary technicians with at least 2 years of experience, possessing excellent communication skills and a proactive approach in a fast-paced setting. The position offers competitive wages, generous PTO, and significant opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience, specialty experience strongly preferred.
• Prior exposure to IM, anesthesia, oncology, or advanced diagnostics is required.
• Strong understanding of sterile techniques and sample handling.

Responsibilities

• Support boarded specialists and technicians in patient care.
• Responsible for safe patient handling and monitoring.
• Obtain and handle samples for diagnostics.

Skills

Understanding endocrine, GI, hepatic, renal, and respiratory diseases

Familiarity with advanced procedures (CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy)

Venipuncture and IV catheter placement

Excellent communication skills

Calm, organized, and proactive

Education

Credentialed veterinary technicians preferred
