Kaiser Permanente invites an experienced RN to join the Labor and Delivery unit in San Diego as a part-time night-shift staff nurse. The role emphasizes leadership in care planning, patient progress monitoring, and strong documentation practices within the Kaiser system.

Qualified candidates hold a California RN license with BLS, NRP, ACLS, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificates. 1 year of L&D experience or KP L&D coursework is required.

• Active California RN license required or pending
• 1 year of recent full-time equivalent experience in Labor and Delivery or KP L&D course completion within the last 12 months
• BLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, NRP, and ACLS certifications required or obtained within specified timelines

• Lead the healthcare team and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Develop individualized plans of care and monitor patient progress.

About This Role

The Specialty Unit Staff RN - L&D FLOAT provides professional nursing care in the Labor and Delivery unit, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who are flexible and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

• Pay: $62 - $85/hour

• Facility: San Diego Medical Center
• Schedule: Part-time, Night shift

What You'll Do

• Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.
• Serve as a leader of the health care team; delegate tasks appropriately.
• Develop and contribute to individualized plans of care.
• Monitor patient progress and revise care plans as needed.
• Ensure effective documentation of nursing processes and interventions.
• Discuss patient findings and progress with physicians and healthcare team members.
• Practice customer service standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Mentor, orient, and coach others in unit-specific operations.
• Organize work to minimize the use of overtime.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.

Requirements

Education:

• Registered Nurse License (California)

Experience:

• 1-year recent full-time equivalent experience in Labor and Delivery or completion of a KP L&D course within the last 12 months.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certificate required at hire or within 12 months
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
