Job summary

Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a dedicated Specialty RN in the Operating Room for full-time day shifts. You will coordinate and deliver skilled perioperative nursing care, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists and staff to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.

Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, current NC RN license or multi-state license, BCLS, two years OR experience; BSN and specialty certification preferred.

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited nursing program.
Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State.
BCLS certification.
Preferred: BSN and/or specialty certification.
Two years operating room experience.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and provide professional nursing care in the operating room.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and staff to ensure patient safety.
Contribute to performance appraisal input and departmental outcomes.

Summary of Performance Expectations

Accountable for the coordination and provision of professional nursing care appropriate to the age of the patient using the nursing process. Collaborates with other health care professionals and agencies to meet the needs of our customers. Provides input into the performance appraisal process for each assigned team member on an on-going basis. Accountable for input into departmental and patient financial outcomes.

Education and Credentials:

Required:

Graduate of accredited nursing program.
Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State.
BCLS certification. If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), an AHA certification is required within three months of employment date.

Preferred:

BSN, specialty certification in area of practice.

Work Experience:

Required:

Two years operating room experience. Departmental competencies.
