Job summary

Rodeo Dental in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a qualified Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our team. The role requires an active RDA license with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and a high school diploma or equivalent.

CPR certification is preferred, and certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide is advantageous. You will support daily clinical operations, maintain patient records, and ensure strict adherence to OSHA, HIPAA and infection control protocols throughout all patient

Responsibilities

• End of week inventory to Lead DA for replenishment
• Maintain patient safety as top priority
• Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control protocols
• Maintain and update digital patient information
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences
• Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and disinfected
• Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits
• Monitor patient well-being during visits
• Review patient chart and health history before doctor arrival
• Take diagnostic quality X-Rays and attach to chart
• Assist Rodeo Team with IC protocol and cleanliness
• Complete daily assignments
• Monitor and record patient vital signs
• Suction and suture management
• Mix and prepare amalgam, cement and pulp paste
• Pouring, trimming, polishing impression trays
• Assist with bonding, banding and orthodontic procedures
• Place and cement bands; setup brackets and remove excess cement
• Make retainers and bleaching trays
• Maintain crash cart equipment and supplies
• Work with sedated patients in office and hospital settings
• Provide excellent chairside assistance and anticipate next steps
• Explain post-op instructions to patient and parent

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
• Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) preferred
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory
• Making Patient Safety and Team Safety the number one priority
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols
• Maintaining and upkeeping digital patient information
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each treatment
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team maintain office cleanliness and IC protocol
• Completing daily assignments
• Monitoring and recording patient vital signs
• Suctioning, cutting sutures, and holding retractors
• Mixing amalgam, cement, and pulp paste and preparing impression materials
• Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
• Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
• Placing and cementing bands
• Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
• Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
• Maintaining crash cart equipment and supplies
• Working with oral and IV sedated patients in office and hospital settings
• Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
• Ensuring the patient and parent comprehends the post-op instructions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
