Job summary

Rodeo Dental is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our team in the back office and lobbies, delivering exceptional patient care across orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and other specialties. The role emphasizes patient safety, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the clinical team.

The candidate should hold an active Texas RDA license, CPR/AED, and OSHA/HIPAA training, with familiarity in Open Dental or Dentrix.

Qualifications

• Active RDA license with Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE).
• CPR and AED training current.
• Nitrous Oxide monitoring certification preferred.
• OSHA/HIPAA and infection control training current.
• Experience with dental software Open Dental or Dentrix is helpful.
• Sealant/Coronal Polishing/PALS certifications are a plus.
• Spanish language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• End of week inventory to replenish supplies.
• Maintain patient safety as a priority.

• Manage digital patient records, treatment plans, and insurance eligibility.
• Educate patients and families on oral health benefits.
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences.

• Review patient charts prior to doctor arrival and confirm concerns.
• Take diagnostic X-rays and attach to charts.
• Assist Rodeo Team with general room and facility cleaning.

Job description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Registered Dental Assistant is a key member and contributor in creating an amazing, one-of-a-kind Patient Experience. The RDA will provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. Successful candidates will work in the Back Office and in our world-class lobbies engaging, entertaining, and caring for our patients.

SCHEDULE:

This position requires a flexible schedule that may require extended hours

as business requires – including evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
• Active CPR and AED training
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!
• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory
• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
