Job summary

Rodeo Dental in Tucson, AZ seeks a dedicated Registered Dental Assistant to support doctors with chairside assistance, manage tray setups, and maintain patient records.

Responsibilities

• End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory
• Make patient safety and team safety the top priority
• Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols
• Maintain and update digital patient information
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences and procedures
• Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, and stocked to standard
• Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits
• Monitor patient physical and emotional well being during visits
• Review patient chart and health history prior to doctor arrival
• Take diagnostic quality X-Rays and attach to chart
• Assist with orthodontic procedures and settings
• Maintain crash cart equipment and supplies
• Work with sedated patients in office and hospital settings
• Provide excellent chairside assistance and stay synchronized with doctor
• Explain post-op instructions to patient and parent

• Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) preferred
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory
• Making Patient Safety and Team Safety the number one priority
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols
• Maintaining and upkeeping digital patient information
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each treatment
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team maintain office cleanliness and IC protocol
• Completing daily assignments
• Monitoring and recording patient vital signs
• Suctioning, cutting sutures, and holding retractors
• Mixing amalgam, cement, and pulp paste and preparing impression materials
• Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
• Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
• Placing and cementing bands
• Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
• Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
• Maintaining crash cart equipment and supplies
• Working with oral and IV sedated patients in office and hospital settings
• Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
• Ensuring the patient and parent comprehends the post-op instructions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
