Job summary

Sentara Health Plans is hiring a Pharmacy Technician at our Proprium Specialty Pharmacy in Chesapeake, VA. The role involves dispensing under supervision, ensuring supply readiness, and handling patient information with Epic/Omnicell systems.

Eligibility includes Virginia Pharmacy Tech License and ideally CPhT. A 5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for qualified candidates, with typical day shifts and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required).
• CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred).
• 1 Year Pharmacy Experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
• Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information and ensures quality assurance.
• Operates pharmacy equipment and maintains supplies for continuous patient care.

Location: Chesapeake, VA 23320 Status: Full Time (40 hours/week) Shift: Day Shift (8AM-5PM) Occasional Saturdays The Specialty Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
