Job summary

Ballad Health Corporate in Johnson City, TN seeks a Specialty Pharmacy Technician to support high-cost therapies under pharmacist supervision. You will prepare prescriptions, maintain records, coordinate refills, and communicate with patients and providers to ensure timely access.

Requirements include a diploma or GED, technician training, and preferably two years’ experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; PTCB certification or eligibility preferred. Day shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a formal technician training program preferred.
• Two years of experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Community or Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiate patient intake and enter prescription data into the system.
• Coordinate medication refills and communicate with patients, payers, and providers.
• Maintain patient and department records with accuracy.
• Assist with inventory management and shipping.
• May supervise and train newer technicians or students.
• Work closely with pharmacists and care team to coordinate access and pricing.
