Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (Specialty Pharmacy) for Cadillac Hospital. You will assist in preparing, delivering, and restocking medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, with hours of 9am-5pm and no nights or weekends.

The role emphasizes REMS and FDA program compliance, with on-site duties in a fast-paced hospital setting, supporting patient access and transitions of care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• MI licensure/registration/certification is required.
• National Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Process prescription orders and enter patient data into pharmacy systems.
• Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers to support workflow and efficiency.
• Process and coordinate specialty medication prescriptions, including complex cases.
• Manage prior authorizations and insurance requirements with payers and providers.
• Coordinate patient onboarding and refills and ensure adherence to therapy schedules.
• Handle medication distribution logistics, including cold-chain management and direct-to-patient shipping.
• Maintain documentation meeting REMS, FDA, and manufacturer program requirements.
• Provide high-touch patient support and help navigate access barriers.
• Ensure compliance with specialty pharmacy regulations and quality metrics.
