Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to join Specialty Pharmacy Services. Under pharmacist supervision, you will prepare and dispense medications, manage inventories, and support patient billing while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration.
• One year of pharmacy-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in non-complex sterile and non-sterile medication preparation activities per master formulary sheets or labels.
• Operates advanced automated technology to assist in preparation and documentation of sterile products.
• Fills floor stock remote orders (Operating Room, Emergency Room) accurately.
• Maintains storeroom areas and ensures needed supplies are stocked; removes expired medications.
• Restocks medications into automated dispensing cabinets in patient care areas.
• Manages emergency medication inventory, orders supplies, and inventories with proper documentation.
• Performs unit-dose packaging and non-sterile compounding following standard formulas and procedures.
• Conducts temperature inspections of refrigerator and maintains required records.
• Greet customers, assist with point-of-sale transactions, and provide patient/customer support over the phone.
