Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support Specialty Pharmacy Services under pharmacist supervision. Duties include preparing medications, inventory control, audits, and customer service, in a hospital or specialty setting.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, CPhT, MA Pharmacy Tech Registration, and 1 year of pharmacy experience. Preferred candidates may have an associate degree and 2 years hospital-based experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration.
• One year of pharmacy-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pharmaceuticals, including sterile and non-sterile products, following formulary sheets or labels.
• Operate automated technology to assist in preparation and documentation of sterile products.
• Pick medications for automated dispensing cabinet replenishment accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct inventory management and maintain records for medications and supplies.
• Fill floor stock remote orders to ensure timely availability in key areas.
• Restock medications into dispensing cabinets and manage back-up stock.
• Maintain medication rooms and ensure expired items are removed.
• Manage emergency medication inventory and charge documentation.
• Perform unit-dose packaging and non-sterile compounding per standard formulas.
• Complete cycle counts of dispensing carousel and maintain records.
• Provide customer service at the point of sale and over the phone.
