You will work primarily with SupplyLogix and EnterpriseRx, analyze data with spreadsheets, and coordinate with vendors to minimize costs while maintaining patient access.

This onsite role at the Mesa corporate office offers a 9:00 am–5:30 pm schedule.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in business, supply chain, pharmacy or related field.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification & active state licensure (AZ wallet card) at hire.
  • 4+ years purchasing experience in healthcare/pharma inventory.

ThisSpecialty Pharmacy Supply Logistics Analyst opportunity will be part of a brand-new team that will be monitoring inventory for all Specialty and Retail pharmacies. The team will be responsible for transferring medications between pharmacies to prevent waste, monitoring 340B accumulations and purchases, among many other tasks. You will work mainly out of SupplyLogix and EnterpriseRx, but knowledge/experience with either of this is not required. Familiarity with working spreadsheets, reports and having the ability to analyze the data will be needed for this position.

This is an onsite role at the corporate office in Mesa, with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5:30PM.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position manages the pharmaceutical procurement and inventory for Banner Family Pharmacy, including purchasing processes, mapping inventory, optimizing location spaces for medication, contract negotiations and minimizing cost with pharmacy supply vendors, assisting with profit loss research and overall process improvement. Works with Central Fill pharmacies, other Banner Family Pharmacies, and Supply Chain to communicate and manage inventory opportunities. Collaborates with staff to ensure proper inventory of medication for patients by analyzing utilization history and coordinating medication supply and backorder with appropriate stakeholders. Maximizes value to the company while minimizing cost from vendors and suppliers; provides high quality procurement services to meet the needs of the system. The incumbent is accountable for developing efficiencies and for finding new opportunities to reduce supply cost through purchasing optimization, and for developing and maintaining positive vendor relationships based on mutual respect and trust.

CORE FUNCTIONS
  1. Develops, implements and manages pharmacy activities related to the procurement, storage and distribution of pharmacy products. Utilizes multiple vendors required to order medications and mail order supplies. Collaborates with Front End staff in relation to expectation setting for current inventory, backordered inventory and ETA for medication arrival to set expectations with patients. Works with Back End staff to improve processes in relation to ordering, product returns and inventory management and placement to optimize space and cost.
  2. Collaborates with Central Fill pharmacies, other Banner Family Pharmacy Specialty sites, Supply Chain and other external vendors as needed to ensure inventory and supply availability for patients along with helping balance inventory between sites when needed due to cost and space.
  3. Identifies and develops new cost savings sources and vendor agreement opportunities through collaboration with external vendors and supply chain contracting. Conducts analysis of products, prices and usage opportunities.
  4. Provides leadership and information resources for Pharmacy Directors in the identification of products, the development of product specifications, and for development and management of system agreements for products. Uses a variety of methods to collect collaborative input of end users and purchasers, builds detail of specification, and develops group consensus. Manages the implementation of new procurement processes and agreements. Develops and communicates work plans to all affected parties.
  5. Trains assigned staff to backup essential duties when out of office.
  6. Collects, consolidates and provides contract and procurement information to pharmacy customers and senior management in the form of reports, financial analysis, supply utilization, capital expenditures or budget variance as required or appropriate.
  7. Works well in a dynamic, fast paced, and rapidly growing environment with the ability to track and manage millions of dollars of inventory and supplies on a daily basis.
  8. Goal setting for anticipated savings levels accomplished through process improvements with inventory management and contracting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Requires the degree of skills, knowledge and ability normally demonstrated by an Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy or a related field.
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Certification Program.
  • Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification in the state of practice. Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
  • Requires four or more years of purchasing experience in healthcare products, including pharmaceutical procurement, pharmacy inventory and supply experience.
  • Requires knowledge of products, procurement and contracting processes in healthcare, and demonstrated skills in the areas of planning, directing, communications, negotiations and analysis.
  • Strong customer service focus, exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, prioritization capabilities, superior problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and other contacts. Ability to use multiple software packages on a personal computer and have a working knowledge of inventory systems. Must be proficient in word processing and spreadsheet computer software applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with Enterprise Rx and HVS/Cover My Meds for inventory management is desirable.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
