Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Adult Immunology Clinic by coordinating and implementing key specialty pharmacy operational activities, including billing, delivery, tracking, and patient interactions.

You will work with prescribers and pharmacists to obtain prior authorizations, manage patient assistance and insurance options, and maintain documentation within Epic Hyperspace.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Associate's degree is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
• One year of recent experience supporting or coordinating specialty pharmacy services in an administrative/operational role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery needs and provide tracking information to patients and vendors.
• Manage patient referrals, new/refill orders, and prior authorizations.
• Ensure accurate billing and reimbursement for specialty/high-cost medications.
• Monitor and report on patient reimbursement activities and workflow.
• Coordinate couriers for Adult Immunology and Outpatient Pharmacy patients.
• Handle return-to-stock tasks and assist with special projects.
