You will act as a liaison with patients, physicians, and pharmacists, ensuring accuracy in documentation and helping patients enroll in assistance programs to maximize copay savings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy upon hire date must be maintained.
• Pharmacy technician experience is required for this role.
• Prior experience with third-party billing, financial counseling, or medical terminology and coding is preferred.
• Epic electronic medical record experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete benefit investigations to verify patient eligibility for prescribed specialty medications.
• Maintain current knowledge of payer formularies and reimbursement processes.
• Assist with third-party prior authorization and obtain appropriate overrides.
• Monitor and update insurance information to prevent gaps in therapy.
• Triages clinical questions to pharmacists for intervention as needed.
• Use EHR to document patient care activities and communicate with departments.
• Serve as primary contact with patients for specialty medication needs and coordinate with physicians and nurses.
• Facilitate enrollment in patient assistance programs to maximize copay savings.
