Job summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Specialty Pharmacy Care Coordinator to join the Cardiology team in Elizabethtown, KY. This role supports patient access to high-touch, complex therapies by coordinating benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and copay assistance.

You will liaise with physicians, nurses, and social workers to ensure timely therapy and optimal patient outcomes. The position emphasizes insurance coordination, EHR documentation, and patient outreach, with a focus on affordability

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with pharmacy technician experience.
• Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy upon hire date is required.
• Experience with third-party billing, financial counseling, or medical terminology is preferred.
• Experience with Epic EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete benefit investigations to verify patient eligibility for prescribed specialty medications.
• Support prior authorization processes and obtain appropriate overrides to expedite therapy.
• Assist with copay assistance enrollment and gather required documentation.
• Triage patient questions and coordinate with pharmacists, nurses, social workers, and physicians.
• Document care activities in the EHR and communicate changes across departments.
• Coordinate patient outreach during visits and follow-up to improve outcomes.
