Job summary

Allina Health in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a 1.0 FTE daytime/evening role in our Community Pharmacy. You will handle patient intake, insurance processing, and coordination of medication delivery in a fast-paced setting.

Pre-employment drug screening required; MN Board registration and PTCB certification are required within specified timeframes. 8-hour shifts, occasional weekends, and 40 hours per two weeks.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required functional competencies.
• 0 to 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

• Performs customer service.
• Manages large call volumes.
• Assists patients with non-clinical questions or concerns.
• Enters patient demographics, history and order information into the practice management system(s).
• Completes referrals to specialty providers, home health, etc.
• Arranges for proper delivery of medications.
• Processes insurance and verifies eligibility.
• Supports prior authorizations and formulary exceptions.
• Facilitates financial assistance for patients.
• Ensures compliance.
• Tracks patients and medication utilization.
