Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s CPS division is seeking a Specialty Pharmacist to deliver high-touch support for patients with complex conditions, ensuring access and continuity of therapy across the care journey. You will enroll and retain patients, educate healthcare providers, and contribute to formulary and compliance efforts while expanding knowledge via research and writing.

The role emphasizes managing prior authorizations, utilization management, and collaboration with payers and manufacturers.

Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin pharmacist license in good standing.
• Pharmacist degree: ACPE-accredited PharmD or BS of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Review and manage specialty medication therapies for complex, chronic, or high-cost conditions.
• Provide patient education and counseling on adherence, administration, side effects, and outcomes.
• Coordinate care with providers, payers, and manufacturers to ensure therapy access and continuity.
• Oversee prior authorizations and utilization management per payer requirements.
• Monitor therapy safety and effectiveness through labs, adherence metrics, and PROs.
• Ensure REMS and accreditation documentation and reporting compliance.
• Support quality initiatives and outcomes reporting for regulatory metrics.
