Job summary

Gastro Florida is seeking a Part-Time or Full-Time Specialty Retail Pharmacist to provide safe, patient-centered services within an onsite specialty retail pharmacy. You will support patients on biologic, hepatitis, GLP-1, and other specialty therapies and ensure compliance with 340B requirements.

You will work with prescribers, clinic staff, and payers to improve access and outcomes, manage insurance and assistance programs, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school.
• Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in Florida where the pharmacy operates.
• Immunization certification and Basic Life Support certification, if required for duties.
• Retail, specialty, ambulatory care, HIV, infectious disease, or 340B pharmacy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of 340B patient eligibility, diversion prevention, and inventory controls.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense prescriptions per laws, standards, payer requirements and policies.
• Provide comprehensive medication counseling on dosing, adherence, interactions, storage, and missed doses.
• Support patients on hepatitis therapies and other high-cost medications.
• Collaborate with prescribers and staff to resolve medication issues and coordinate care.
• Assist with insurance coverage, prior authorizations, copay programs, and patient assistance.
• Monitor processing, refills, synchronization, adherence, and follow-up.
• Maintain dispensing records, documentation, inventory, and patient communications.
