Job summary

Delta Faucet Company in the United States is seeking a Specialty Operator 4 (NFHJ) for the 3rd shift to buff, texture, and polish faucet components to meet quality and production goals. The role requires bending, standing for long periods, and occasional heavy lifting with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Starting pay ranges from $21.75 to $23.35 per hour depending on hire date and shift differential. Overtime is available and benefits are determined by company policy.

Qualifications

• HS degree or HS equivalency diploma is recommended.
• Experience in manufacturing operations is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of safety practices, product quality, delivery, and productivity / cost are preferred.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving ability are necessary because of continuous improvement efforts.
• Ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
• Attendance performance: employees with six or more points are not eligible for promotions or transfers.
• An HPE may be required to determine if physically able to perform tasks.

• Handle faucet parts carefully to avoid damage – “damage free.”
• Buff / texture all sizes and types of faucet parts using high speed buffing wheel.
• Inspect parts.
• Perform job according to standard work.
• Meet production and quality standards.
• Rack and un-rack parts
• Collect data.
• Pull prints to verify print specifications.
• Problem solving and troubleshooting with limited supervision.
• Stand or sit for long periods.
• Work safely while performing duties.
• Complete hazard observations or report unsafe actions per Delta procedures.
• Maintain 5S and visual workplace standards.
• Accept / Reject parts to DS-500 specifications.
• Perform ERGO stretches.

Nature & Scope

The people in this position will follow standard work and operate hand-jack wheels to buff, texture, and polish faucet components that meet quality standards and production goals. A person must be able to perform the essential duties accurately and in an organized and timely manner, be customer-focused, have a positive attitude, and be willing to work overtime. The person must desire to improve the business processes they work in.

Essential Duties / Tasks (Including but not limited to)

• Handle faucet parts carefully to avoid damaging the part – “damage free.”
• Buff / texture all sizes and types of faucet parts using high speed buffing wheel.
• Inspect parts.
• Perform job according to standard work.
• Meet production and quality standards.
• Rack and un-rack parts
• Collect data.
• Pull prints to verify print specifications.
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and work with limited supervision.
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
• Work safely while performing job duties.
• Complete hazard observations or observe unsafe actions and report both using Delta Faucet’s standard procedures.
• Perform housekeeping duties consistent with 5S and visual workplace standards.
• Accept / Reject parts to DS-500 specifications.
• Perform ERGO stretches.

Education, Experience, and Skills

• HS degree or HS equivalency diploma is recommended.
• Experience in manufacturing operations is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of safety practices, product quality, delivery, and productivity / cost are preferred.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving ability are necessary because of continuous improvement efforts.
• Ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
• Acceptable disciplinary performance – Employees who have received a written warning (first or second) are not eligible for promotions or transfers for a minimum of six months after receiving that warning.
• Acceptable attendance performance - Employees who have six or more points are not eligible for promotions or transfers.
• A human performance evaluation or HPE is an evaluation of a person’s physical ability to do a job. An HPE may be required of the applicant or person to determine if they are physically able to perform different tasks related to skills that are critical for success on the job, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Language Skills

The individual should have the ability to read and interpret documents like safety rules, Delta specifications, Standard Work Instructions, job instruction documents, and aspects of Delta’s MOS (Masco Operating System), SFM (Shop Floor Management) system, QMS (Quality Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.

Mathematical Skills

The individual must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

The individual must have the ability to apply reason and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. The person must be able to understand basic reports and daily business requirements.
