UnityPoint Health in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a dedicated Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) for our OB/GYN Clinic - Lakeview. You will deliver patient-centered obstetric and gynecologic care alongside physicians and APs.

This full-time role features 4-day workweeks with stable shifts, competitive benefits, and opportunities to grow in a supportive team. RN license in Iowa and BLS are required, with 1 year OB/GYN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of Iowa (required).
• Associate's or BSN in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN or women's health experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Proficient in using EMR systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic.
• Willing to float to other UnityPoint Clinic locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, education, and triage in an OB/GYN setting.
• Support providers with in-office procedures (e.g., colposcopies, IUD insertions, biopsies).
• Administer medications and injections, including vaccines and hormone therapies, as prescribed.
• Assist with prenatal care, postpartum follow-ups, and routine gynecologic visits.
• Educate patients about reproductive health, pregnancy, contraception, and preventive care.
• Triage patient phone calls and messages, assessing urgency and coordinating appropriate follow-up.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure compliance with all clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with front desk and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling.
• Participate in ongoing staff education, quality improvement initiatives, and team meetings.
