Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking an experienced medical coder to join its corporate team. You will review, analyze, and code complex procedural and surgery documentation, ensuring ICD-10, CPT, modifiers, and HCPCS codes are accurate and specific.

Qualifications

• 3 years of professional coding experience across multiple physician specialties.
• Experience coding across multiple specialties and remote coding experience is preferred.
• One or more certifications listed upon hire (RHIA/RHIT/CCA/CPC/CCS/CCS-P etc.).

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and codes medical record documentation with ICD-10, CPT, modifiers and HCPCS codes to greatest specificity.
• Abstracts demographic and coding information into the information system accurately.
• Reviews documentation for medical necessity and audits orders and claims for accuracy.
• Provides guidance to physicians and staff in identifying and resolving coding issues.
• Develops effective relationships with physicians and stakeholders.
• Primary coding responsibility is complex procedural and surgery coding.
