Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a customer-focused Team Member for the Specialty department. You will support receiving and preparing product, maintain the Specialty floor and displays, and assist customers with knowledgeable service.

Responsibilities include ensuring quality standards, assisting with sampling, keeping back stock organized, and promoting a clean, safe shopping environment while working a flexible schedule. No prior retail experience is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department.
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
• Ability to sell proactively.
• Strong attention to detail and communication.
• WFM policies on health and sanitation are followed.

Responsibilities

• Surprises and delights customers with consistent and delicious food.
• Engages in positive and proactive selling.
• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well-stocked.
• Checks product to ensure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Monitors spoilage and waste to minimize dept expenses.
• Assists with sampling program and keeps areas clean.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Provides excellent customer service and addresses needs promptly.
• Maximizes sales through proper prepping, storing, stocking and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation and safe work practices.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and reports hazards.
