Job summary

Whole Foods Market Santa Clara is seeking an entry-level Specialty Team Member to support the Specialty floor, receive and prepare product, and assist customers with friendly, knowledgeable service.

You will help maintain displays, stock, and signage, while following safety, sanitation, and company guidelines. The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and commitment to quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Age 18+ to serve alcohol where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Surprises and delights customers with consistent and delicious food.
• Engages in positive and proactive selling.
• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well-stocked.
• Checks product to ensure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Monitors spoilage and supply waste to minimize impact on department expenses.
• Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Accesses information about market conditions and communicates to customers.
• Ensures temperature, sanitation and sweep logs are completed.
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follows safety, health, and sanitation procedures and maintains clean working environment.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures pricing and signs are accurate.
• Reports safety hazards and violations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by store leadership.
