Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Team Member to support the Specialty team by receiving and preparing product, maintaining displays, and selling products in line with the regional Specialty vision.

No prior retail experience is required. Wage range is $17.00–$25.40 hourly, commensurate with experience, with Whole Benefits and store discounts. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays is typical.

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
• TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures by Servers of Alcohol) course completion required where applicable; must be age 18+ to serve alcohol

Responsibilities

• Surprises and delights customers with consistent and delicious food.
• Engages in positive and proactive selling.
• Keeps cases and shelves clean and well-stocked for an appealing display.
• Checks product to meet quality standards.
• Monitors spoilage and waste to minimize costs.
• Assists with sampling program and keeps areas full and clean.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Communicates market information to customers.
• Completes temperature, sanitation and sweep logs; arrives on time and prepared.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation and safety standards.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary work and shopping environment; operates within safety standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures accurate signage.
• Reports safety hazards promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
