Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Clark, NJ is seeking a friendly Team Member to support the Specialty department, stock shelves, maintain displays, and help customers. You will uphold health and safety standards and follow SOPs while delivering warm, efficient service.

This role emphasizes proactive selling, product knowledge, and teamwork. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 6-8 hours.
• Adhere to health and sanitation standards and store policies.

Responsibilities

• Surprises and delights customers with consistent and delicious food.
• Engages in positive and proactive selling.
• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well-stocked.
• Checks product to ensure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Monitors spoilage and supply waste to minimize impact on department expenses.
• Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Accesses information about market conditions and communicates to customers.
• Ensures temperature, sanitation and sweep logs are completed.
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follows and complies with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards and violations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by store leadership.
