Job summary

Veolia North America seeks a skilled materials handler to process specialty waste streams and assist incineration operations. You will perform equipment rounds, document the waste feeding process, and support maintenance with required permits.

A strong safety background and ability to operate forklifts are essential. Responsibilities include coordinating with supervision, handling lines and lances, and ensuring proper documentation.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and labels.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to procedures.
• Experience operating forklift, yard truck and related heavy equipment.
• Emergency response training or readiness to respond to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Process specialty feed streams and prepare materials for incineration.
• Perform rounds and inspections of equipment in the specialty feed area.
• Document waste feeding processes using log books, scanners and labels.
• Assist maintenance and outside contractors with preventive tasks and permits.
• Operate forklifts and other rolling stock and support start-up/shutdown activities.
• Report spills, emergencies, and changes to supervision and coordination centers.
• Support incinerator operations, ash handling and slag removal.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety gear in the work areas.
