Job summary

Isola Group is seeking a 1st Shift Specialty Copper / Robust Operator at our Ridgeway facility. The role involves operating the machine that cuts laminate sheets and prepares copper for pressing, and tracking copper foil inventory electronically.

Schedule is 5:00am to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday, with extended shift and weekend overtime as required. You will verify press plans, manage copper stock using FIFO, and participate in maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience is required.
• Experience with work instructions, work orders, and SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and verify press plan is complete and clear.
• Review copper foil feeders stocked with correct copper type, size and weight per the press plan.
• Run current inventory list to locate copper foils in stock for usage; pull stock using FIFO.
• Inspect copper foil for usability and place defective items on hold per quality procedure.
• Stage and load copper on the machine; perform computer transactions to update locations.
• Log copper usage and scrap in batch sheets; issue/produce copper usage between loads.
• Participate in weekly preventive maintenance and inventory cycle counts.
• Work with engineering and quality technicians; use Lean/Six Sigma to improve processes.
• Ensure materials conform to industry quality criteria and perform safety audits.
• Maintain clean work area and assist other operators to meet customer due dates.

Job Description

Isola, an industry leader in global materials sciences whose mission is to improve life by enabling innovation in electronic products, is hiring a 1st Shift Specialty Copper / Robust Operator at our Ridgeway, SC facility.

Schedule: 5:00am to 1:30pm Monday to Friday (Extended shift and weekend overtime work required)

THE ROLE

The Specialty Copper / Robust Operator is responsible for operating the machine that cuts laminate sheets and prepares copper for the pressing processes. This role also tracks copper foil inventory electronically.

TOP RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and verify press plan is complete and clear.
• Review copper foil feeders are stocked with correct copper type, size and weight per the press plan.
• Run current inventory list to locate copper foils in stock for usage. Using a forklift, pull copper foils from stock using the FIFO method.
• Inspect copper foil for usability. If copper is defective, place on hold per quality procedure.
• Stage and load copper on the machine.
• Perform transactions in computer to change the location of the copper foil from stock to Specialty copper location.
• Log copper usage and scrap in batch sheets.
• Between press loads, perform computer transactions to issue/produce copper usage.
• Participate in weekly preventive maintenance.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts.
• Work with engineering and quality technicians as needed.
• Use Lean/Six Sigma Methodologies to improve the process.
• Ensure that the materials processed conform to industry quality criteria.
• Perform Safety and Quality Audits as assigned.
• Manage the orders being cut and packed to ensure customer due dates are being met.
• Effectively communicates with maintenance when equipment problems arise.
• Ensure full compliance with ISO, manufacturing visual and written procedures.
• Maintain a clean work area in accordance with established 6S criteria.
• Assist other operators to ensure timely shipment of product
• Cross train in other areas.
