Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Specialty Clinical Pharmacist for the Case Management team. This full-time role offers rotating days, with hours from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and occasional Saturdays.

The pharmacist will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, review medication orders for appropriateness, counsel patients, and support staff with drug information and education. Experience in specialty medications is preferred and BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist with clinical focus and ability to manage drug therapies.
• Strong knowledge of medication use and disease states relevant to specialty areas.
• Experience with counseling patients and providing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services in assigned areas.
• Manage patient drug therapy according to clinical standards.
• Serve as primary resource for drug information and education.
• Precept students and train new staff as assigned.
• Escalate questions outside scope of practice as needed.
