Job summary

Jobtailor in Virginia seeks a licensed pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmacy services in a clinical setting. You will review medication orders, counsel patients, and ensure safe and effective drug therapy within the medication-use system.

Required are a PharmD or Doctorate in Pharmacy, Virginia license, and BLS; ACLS and PGY1/PGY2 residency are preferred. Prior clinical experience and drug counseling skills are highly valued as you participate in staff training and stay current with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required.
• Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
• Virginia Pharmacist License required.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Drug counseling experience and knowledge of specialty medications.
• PGY1/PGY2 residency trained preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in all necessary aspects of the medication-use system while providing comprehensive and individualized pharmaceutical care
• Manages patient drug therapy in accordance with applicable clinical practice standards
• Assures the appropriateness of all provider medication orders
• Maintains current knowledge of medication use and disease states applicable to their area of practice
• Serves as the primary resource for drug information and education
• Provides in-depth patient counseling when required
• Participates in the training of new employees as assignedAssumes local responsibility and ownership for assigned tasks
• Consistently follows policies and procedures
• Continually seeks out additional training opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor's Level Degree in Pharmacy (Required)
• Doctorate Level Degree in Pharmacy (Preferred)
• Virginia Pharmacist License (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
