Symbiotic Services is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Specialty CAD Technician for a full-time opportunity in Newton, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience using CAD software to create accurate technical drawings, develop patterns and markers, and optimize fabric utilization. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Utilize CAD software to create precise technical drawings and patterns.
Interpret and translate sketches, diagrams, and verbal instructions into accurate CAD drawings.
Ensure marker quality and quantity meet production requirements.
Verify the accuracy of geometric shapes, pattern details, and parts within the CAD system.
Develop and lay out patterns and markers using established methods to maximize fabric utilization and minimize waste.
Generate full-size patterns using an Okidata printer.
Maintain accurate documentation and detailed notes for future reference.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in cutting operations.
Maintain high standards of quality and precision throughout the design and pattern development process.
Experience and knowledge of CAD software, particularly Formaris and Diamino .
Strong understanding of technical drawing principles and standards.
Ability to measure and recognize fabric repeats.
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on accuracy.
Experience with Lectra CAD systems .
Previous hand-cutting experience.
Experience in fabric cutting, pattern development, or a related manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with fabric optimization and marker-making processes.
Ability to work a full-time schedule.
Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
