Specially Designed Instructional Mentor (Pending Board Approval)

Position Overview: The Specially Designed Instructional Mentor will serve as a guide and resource for educators to effectively implement specially designed instruction across the district. This role emphasizes coaching, supporting, and mentoring teachers in evidence-based strategies and curriculum to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. The mentor collaborates with school teams and district leadership to ensure compliance, promote instructional fidelity, and enhance student achievement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field
  • Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • At least three (3) years of experience in special education, including implementation of specially designed instruction
  • Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, or professional development

Knowledge, Licenses, and Skills:

  • Possess or able to obtain and maintain a valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in Special Education
  • Familiarity with federal and state special education laws and regulations
  • Deep knowledge of specially designed instruction and evidence-based practices for students with disabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
  • Experience with educational technology tools and data management
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
