Job summary

Allegion’s Specialized Assembly Operator role in Princeton, IL, focuses on equipment performance metrics and quality control for assembled housings and closers. You will manually operate machinery and perform autonomous maintenance within a safety-conscious team environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.

• Ability to use Kanban workflow for optimal build performance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures.
• Ability to read, interpret and perform from method sheets, safety rules, Kanban cards, schedules, operating instructions, etc.
• Ability to identify components and gain parts knowledge.
• Ability to use data entry technologies (bar code, key entry) and AS400.
• General knowledge of machinery related to responsibilities.
• Ability to judge distances, colors, and perform inspections.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble housings and cylinders.
• Perform fill, test, regulate on closers to ensure proper operation.
• Adjust mechanisms for smooth operation of parts.
• Build sub-assemblies for stations (speed controls, end plugs, couplers, rams, piston heads, ball/nut assemblies).
• Perform quality checks on parts and products.
• Follow safety regulations; keep areas clean using 5S standards.
• May perform other duties and extend to other areas as needed.
• Flexibility to work overtime as required.
• Perform tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
