Accountabilities
The Visual Merchandising Associate will be responsible for assisting the Visual Merchandising Director on all projects relevant to maintaining and promoting the Sam Edelman brand image. This position is part of Creative Services within Marketing and works cross-functionally with retail in the conceptualization, coordination and execution of visual merchandising guidelines. Looking for a curious, driven, passionate leader who loves retail and understands the impact visual merchandising plays on the consumer.
Essential Functions
· Assist the Visual Director in setting the NY stores floor monthly, create visual directives and ensure standards are upheld throughout fleet
· Work collaboratively with store teams based on brand seasonal trends and store climate/client
· Provide visual feedback to stores on a weekly basis
· Assist in creating compelling visual displays and window concepts for seasonal project launch
· Manage relationships with printers and fabricators
· Partner with marketing and retail to ensure visual needs are met for special projects
· Create 3D technical drawings and planograms for pop-ups and tradeshows, and props
· Manage visual prop inventory in office and store
· Responsible for store visual maintenance (painting, reupholstery, lighting, etc)
· Manage licensee showrooms – ensure they are up to date each season
· Manage and assist in executing all phases of projects, including overseeing timelines, meet deadlines, and seeing projects through to completion
· Assist with production and installation of showroom and store graphics
· Administrative tasks related to tradeshows, events, and special projects
· Builds and maintains knowledge of visual merchandising strategies and current trends.
Preferred Qualifications & Education
· Bachelor’s degree (Visual Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising or Interior Design)
· 2-3 years of professional experience in a creative team environment
· Prior experience with visual merchandising and/or interior design
· Knowledge of home decor/fashion trends and styles
· Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Creative Cloud, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in Excel
· Knowledge of 3D rendering software (SketchUp, CAD)
· Excellent time management skills with ability to quickly adapt to changing business environment
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines consistently
· Drive for perfection with excellent organization skills and impeccable attention to detail
· Must be a self-starter, flexible and imaginative with an elevated sense of three-dimensional design
Physical Requirements and/or Environment
· Travel 35% in United States to retail stores, tradeshows, pop-ups
