Nationwide Insurance is seeking a Specialist for their Property and Casualty team. This role involves underwriting complex commercial business policies, providing technical direction, and ensuring effective communication with agents. This role supports our dynamic National Retail Programs team, which is highly collaborative and driven by mutual accountability. As part of this team, you will support portfolios within the franchise or association space with specialized agency partners. You will become an expert in the industries you support!

As a Specialist, you'll accept, retain, and price complex, moderate to high exposure new, renewal, and endorsement commercial business policies based on granted authority. You will provide technical direction and mentorship to underwriting staff, research underwriting projects, and may serve as a team lead.
Reporting to a Supervisor or Manager, typically without direct reports. Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, completion of INS, AU, or similar designations (CIC, CPCU preferred), and approximately six years of relevant experience. Knowledge of commercial underwriting, insurance laws, and systems is essential. Leadership skills and other competencies may be prioritized.
Work conditions include a normal office environment, occasional travel, and extended hours as needed. The position is exempt from overtime eligibility.

The salary range is $70,000 to $145,500, with an expected starting range of $78,000 to $117,000, based on various factors including skills and experience.
