Job Description:

Responsible for the internal or customer administration, maintenance and management of capacity resources for computers at the operating system and infrastructure level. Builds, configures, troubleshoots and integrates new and existing servers to provide service enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades. Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Recommends software and hardware enhancements, diagnoses and corrects issues, defines and implements new services with the goal of achieving maximum server uptime and availability for the customers. Responsible for monitoring performance, system usage. Contributes towards the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), backup systems and disk configurations. Conducts system analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies.

Essential Functions:

  • 3-5 years of experience with Red Hat Linux Administration or Engineering, 2-4 years of experience with Windows Administration or Engineering
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance
  • Implement and manage security measures to protect data and systems, in compliance with DoD policies, STIG evaluate tools and best practices.
  • Manage user accounts and access controls to ensure secure and efficient system usage.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and changes to maintain accurate records.
  • Configure, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot VMWare and/or other virtualization technologies
  • Experience in VM life-cycle management (snapshots)
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting AIX /Linux based environments, Xwindows for GUIs.
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Fortran, C and C++ based environments.
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python).
  • System configuration experience with Enterprise Identity Management tools (LDAP, IPA, Active Directory, etc.)
  • Lead efforts to field changes to production systems to a schedule
  • Address and detect issues that impact projects and implement/develop courses of action (COAs) to mitigate or alleviate the impact to projects
  • Experience implementing patches, scanning, remediating findings, auditing
  • Support critical operations during standard and occasional non-standard working hours
  • This position is 100% on-site and cannot be supported remotely.

Qualifications: (refer to Career Framework)

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or
    • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience,
    • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Top Secret / SCI security clearance required.
  • DOD 8570.01M IAT 2 certification.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 3 certification (e.g. CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH).
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, security configurations, and system administration best practices.
  • System configuration experience with SANs and RHEL 8
  • Familiarity with MPS operational systems.
  • Experience supporting SDA data delivery or similar defense-related data systems.
  • Working knowledge of RMF and cybersecurity requirements
  • Previous experience supporting DoD/government customers
  • Hardware/software requirement verification/system validation experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work and grow in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Active TS/SCI DOD security clearance w/CI Poly is preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Experience with CM tools
  • Establish and maintain up-to-date cybersecurity configurations based on DISA STIGs and IAVM Notices

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $85,500 - $158,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements
