Manor Independent School District is seeking a Specialist for Student Information Services to configure, maintain, and enhance district information systems and applications. You will support the full life cycle of software applications, gather business requirements, and respond to work orders to diagnose and resolve issues.

Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Support the Information Systems coordinator to configure, maintain, and enhance the Manor ISD information systems and applications. Support the entire lifecycle of software applications, including gathering business requirements and supporting software applications. Respond to work order requests to diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to information systems and applications. Provide ad hoc and custom reports for district staff under general guidance. Provide training and instructional medium to staff to facilitate the effective use of technology in information systems.

Education/Certification:

Associate’s degree in information technology or related field (Preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge in information systems, including Skyward Student Information System.
  • Knowledge in district software applications, including instructional technology programs.
  • Knowledge in ETL processes.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data.
  • Expertise in desktop spreadsheet and database software applications.
  • Experience with report writing tools and applications (i.e. Crystal Reports, SQL Report Builder)

Experience:

  • A minimum of two to four years related experience, requiring identifying data sources, collecting, and organizing information for analytic and operational purposes. Documented experience required in supporting end users and maintaining accurate technical documentation.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement, document, maintain, and enhance district information systems.
  • Provide training and support to teachers, staff, parents, and end users.
  • Inform teachers, staff, parents, and end users of changes in district information systems.
  • Evaluate support processes for district information systems and provide feedback for areas of improvement.
  • Research updates and changes in district information systems and make recommendation for increased efficiency.
  • Identify, evaluate, and provide processes to correct data integrity issues.
  • Design documentation and training medium for district information systems.
  • Provide various ad hoc and custom reports as needed (i.e. GPA/Rank, Scheduling, Discipline, Grading)
  • Support administrative and clerical staff to complete major projects and tasks as needed including the collection, editing, and reporting of PEIMS data collections.
  • Support the PEIMS department with state and federal data collections.
  • Monitor end user access and authorization within district information systems.
  • Must communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Perform necessary configuration and setup of district information systems.
  • Assist in the development of processes regarding district information systems.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
  • Dependable performance requires reliable and dependable attendance.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
  • Demonstrates principles of the Manor ISD People Experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.
