Job summary

  • You would join as a member of the Flight Operations Team within the Integrated Operations Division. This position will be responsible for the initiating, coordinating, and processing flight operations standardization projects/manual revisions in addition to special projects assigned.



What you'll do

  • Comply with safety risk management processes within flight tactical operations supporting safety management system (SMS) principles.

  • Accomplish Company goals and department performance objectives (i.e., assigned tasks).

  • Coordinate revisions with flight operations management, chief pilots, fleet captains, and technical pilots to ensure standardization of procedures across aircraft fleets and establish timelines and deadlines to meet submission and publishing/posting dates.

  • Maintain FrameMaker (FM) source files on the server and posted/published Adobe Acrobat documents (pdfs) on Comply365, AAPilots, Flight Operations SharePoint site, and JeppFD-Pro.

  • Review documentation to identify revised content for inclusion into applicable flight operations manual/document.

  • Standardize Company manuals/documents structure and formats to comply with flight publications and distribution group writing/grammar standards.

  • Attend the document standards meeting and present content to be considered for inclusion into fleet documents.

  • Collaborate with other team members to promote Company and departmental standards.

  • Coordinate with the FAA and guide revisions through the review and approval process.

  • Maintain file/folder naming conventions, archiving, and server location to conform to departmental standards.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in related field or minimum of 3 years airline experience


Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience



  • Flight operations experience

  • Full understanding of the following with respect to the certificate holder's operation:


    • o Aviation safety standards and safe operating practices

    • o 14 CFR Chapter I (Federal Aviation Regulations)

    • o Certificate holder's operations specifications


  • Pilot certificate

  • Experience in publishing software to include Adobe FrameMaker and Acrobat Pro

  • Writing, editing, and publishing technical documents and/or periodical literature


Skills, Licenses & Certifications



  • Knowledge of:


    • o Flight operations terminology, policy, and procedures

    • o Microsoft Office Applications

    • o The internet and accessing other electronic information sources


  • Ability to:


    • o Prioritize multiple tasks

    • o Work under pressure of changing priorities and deadlines

    • o Interface with various levels of management, employees, and external agencies/professional associates/vendors

    • o Work independently with minimal supervision and as an effective team member

    • o Exercise good judgment and maintain strict confidentiality
