Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a Specialist - Sports Programs in the Student Recreation Center. The Coordinator will support the ongoing development of Intramural and Club Sports while prioritizing a positive student experience and collaborating with the Assistant Director of Sports Programs.

Responsibilities include leading various sports activities, emphasizing student engagement and well-being, and coordinating with campus recreation colleagues to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management or related field is required.
• One year full-time experience in a University Campus Recreation Sports Club Program is preferred.
• CPR certification is required.
• American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED instructor certification or ability to obtain within six months is preferred.

Job Summary/Basic Function

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Sports Programs, the Coordinator of Sports Programs supports the ongoing development of the Intramural and Club Sports programs while also serving collaboratively in the department of Campus Recreation. The incumbent will focus on the student experience in each respective area of Intramural and Club Sports programs and will work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Sports Programs to facilitate exceptional experiences that intently serve all MTSU students. The Coordinator of Sports programs will lead various aspects of competitive and non-competitive sports activities with a focus on student engagement and contributing to overall student success and wellbeing.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management or related field required.

Required Related Experience

No experience required

Required License/Registration/Certification

CPR certification required

Desirable Related Experience

One year full time experience in a University Campus Recreation Sports Club Program preferred. Master's degree preferred.

Desirable License/Registration/Certification

American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED instructor required or the ability to obtain instructor certification within the first six months of being hired. Must have valid Tennessee driver's license or the ability to obtain a TN driver's license within one month of being hired.
