Job summary

Schwab is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer on the START team in Austin to design, build, and improve client-facing onboarding applications. You’ll leverage .NET Core, C#, Angular, TypeScript, and MongoDB to deliver secure, scalable solutions in an Agile setting.

You will collaborate across engineering, product, architecture, and business teams, applying sound engineering and testing practices. The role emphasizes on-site collaboration and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software engineering in C#, .NET/.NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, and MongoDB.
  • 3+ years applying Full Stack Development practices across design, build, test, deploy, and maintain.
  • Experience building scalable, secure software in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and enhance client-facing applications used by Schwab's digital onboarding platform.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and business partners throughout the SDLC.
  • Apply security-focused development practices to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.

As a Full Stack Software Engineer on the START team, you will play a key role in shaping Schwab's digital onboarding experience by designing, building, and enhancing client-facing applications used by a growing customer base. This opportunity allows you to leverage modern technologies including .NET Core, C#, Angular 19, TypeScript, and MongoDB to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available solutions that directly improve the client experience.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering, product, architecture, and business partners to solve complex challenges, modernize existing platforms, and develop innovative capabilities that drive business outcomes. You will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, applying sound engineering principles, software testing practices, and security-focused development approaches to ensure high-quality solutions. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, effective decision-making, adaptability in a fast-paced Agile environment, and a commitment to continuous improvement. What you have
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience developing applications using C#, .NET/.NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, and MongoDB.
  • 3+ years of experience applying Full Stack Development practices to design, build, test, deploy, and maintain software applications.
  • Experience developing scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions within an Agile delivery environment.
  • Experience supporting application maintenance, production support, and operational reliability initiatives.
  • Experience troubleshooting application incidents, identifying root causes, and partnering across teams to restore services and minimize business impact.
  • Experience applying software testing practices to support quality, performance, and reliability objectives.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies, including roadmaps, epics, user stories, and backlog prioritization.
  • Knowledge of information security principles and implementation of security controls within software applications.
  • Experience applying software design principles, development patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience developing and maintaining software components throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience working with containerization and application deployment technologies.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience developing enterprise-scale applications within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience analyzing moderately complex business and technical challenges and translating findings into actionable solutions.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking skills with the ability to leverage data-driven insights to support decision-making.
  • Experience communicating technical concepts, project updates, and recommendations to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, and technology modernization.
  • Experience building collaborative relationships and contributing to high-performing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and effectiveness in evolving business and technology environments.
  • Experience evaluating emerging technologies and industry trends to improve engineering practices and outcomes.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality work with strong attention to detail and sound judgment.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
