Job summary

Celanese in Irving, TX is seeking a Supply Chain Raw Material Planner to balance supply, demand and inventory for the Engineered Materials portfolio. You will work across Manufacturing, Logistics, Procurement and Finance to optimize tactical and strategic plans with strong communication and data analysis.

The role requires SAP MRP scheduling experience, 5–7 years in manufacturing or supply chain planning, and a related degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in supply chain management, business, industrial engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing or supply chain planning may be required.
• Experience with SAP MRP Scheduling is required.
• APICS certification is preferred.
• Experience with advanced planning/scheduling solutions (e.g., JDA/Blue Yonder) preferred.
• Experience in a chemical compounding environment preferred.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Logistics, Procurement, Finance and other Celanese planners to optimize tactical and strategic supply/demand balance.
• Maintain production and inventory plans based on targets and imperatives.
• Provide input for Constrained Consensus and Demand Forecast based on known supply constraints.
• Maintain planning parameters data in system (Lead time, Min lot size, Safety stock, procurement keys).
• Provide and execute recommendations considering cost, service levels and strategic imperatives.
• Work with Network Optimization to align inventory targets with network capability.
• Maintain EM Americas SAP Material Master Data (MRP1–MRP4).
• Back up for other EM Americas Raw Material Planner if needed.
• Ensure end-to-end supply chains operate smoothly through planning processes and business integration.
• Provide RM forecast/requirements to procurement team.

Job description

Overview:

The Supply Chain Raw Material Planner is responsible for the tactical and strategic balancing of supply, demand, and inventory for the Engineered Materials (EM) business line portfolio. This individual must collaborate effectively across all functional groups and the broader Engineered Materials (EM) Core with a strong drive for results. The role will require quick but effective analysis of complex problems for recommendations in line with strategic business imperatives. A strong focus on communication and the free flow of information is important for success in this role. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with high level technical skills to gain exposure to the commercial functions of the EM business line.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Manufacturing team, Logistics, Logistics Procurement, Business management and Finance and other Celanese planners to optimize both tactical (daily) and strategic (long term) supply/demand balance for EM product in line with entire EM strategic business imperatives.
• Maintain production and inventory plans based on inventory targets and strategic business imperatives.
• Provide input for approval of Constrained Consensus, Demand Forecast based upon known supply constraints
• Maintain planning parameters data in system. ( Lead time, Min lot size, Safety stock, procurement keys )

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain Mgmt., Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5 to 7 years of related experience in a manufacturing operation and or supply chain planning role. OR 3+ years of Scheduling experience (E.g.: Combination of raw material, Supply planning, Purchasing, Logistics (finished goods), and execution).
• Experience with SAP MRP Scheduling required.
• APICS certification preferred.
• Experience w/ advanced planning / scheduling solutions preferred (e.g., JDA/Blue Yonder).
• Experience in a chemical compounding environment preferred.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills required.
