Latham & Watkins LLP in Houston is seeking a Billing Specialist for the Global Finance team. The role coordinates billing activities, prepares invoices in line with regulations and firm/client requirements, and supports e-billing and proformas.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with in-office presence in Houston and opportunities to work with a global finance group. A high school diploma is required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred and prior professional services billing experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze client billing requests.
• Create, edit, and submit bills per firm and client requirements; review proformas and coordinate e-billing.
• Ensure timely delivery of invoices; resolve billing rejections with revenue teams.
• Generate and review proformas from 3E for billing purposes.
• Use billing software to complete processes and respond to inquiries.
• Protect confidential information and uphold data security.

About the Role

The Specialist is an integral part of Latham’s Global Finance team. This role will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the billing process and performing billing duties with varying levels of complexity, while preparing invoices for finalization in line with internal and external regulations and legislation, including Value‑Added Tax (VAT), Solicitors’ Accounts Rules under the Criminal Finances Act, and applicable money laundering regulations. This role will be located in our Houston office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and analyzing client billing requests


• Creating, editing, and submitting bills in accordance with firm and client requirements, reviewing proformas, handling corrections, and coordinating e‑billing


• Ensuring successful delivery of invoices and coordinating with revenue and e‑billing teams to resolve rejections and reductions


• Generating and reviewing proformas from 3E for informational and billing purposes


• Utilizing computerized billing and payable software modules to complete billing processes, research issues, and provide information to customers


• Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Pay Range

USD $65,000.00 - USD $75,000.00 /Yr.
