Job summary

Meridian Healthcare in Gainesville, FL, seeks a Recovery Specialist to support the treatment team and provide direct client care in a therapeutic, respectful environment. You will monitor clients, help maintain a safe milieu, and document interactions to support individual recovery goals.

A high school diploma or college education in human services, or personal recovery of two years, is commonly required, with substitutions allowed. Florida driver’s license with a clean record is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred and 2 years' experience in a human service field required.
• OR College education in human service field may be substituted for experience.
• OR Personal recovery of at least 2 years may be substituted for work experience.
• Preference is given to candidates with work experience in substance abuse.
• Current Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record while meeting company insurance requirements required.

Responsibilities

• Aids in ensuring an orderly, safe and therapeutic environment by maintaining a therapeutic relationship with person served and treats person served with dignity and respect at all times.
• Monitors person served to help maintain a safe, clean environment and sets standards for milieu monitoring through the performance of these tasks.
• Observes, reports and documents client interaction among peers, staff and the community as it relates to clients' individual recovery goals.

About the Role
