As part of our Power Transmission business group, you will contribute to some of the world’s most ambitious offshore and subsea infrastructure projects while working alongside highly skilled colleagues across multiple disciplines and countries.


WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

You will join the Project Planning team within Power Transmission, reporting to the Project Tender and Execution Planning Manager and operationally to Project Managers and Project Directors within assigned projects and tenders.


As Specialist Project Planner, you will act as a technical authority within the planning discipline, leading the most complex and strategic planning activities across projects and tenders. In addition to supporting project execution, you will provide functional leadership, mentoring, and guidance to Project Planners and Senior Project Planners, ensuring consistent application of planning standards and best practices across the organization.


You will work closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors, manufacturing plants, installation teams, and other planning units within the global PWR-T organization.


HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

As Specialist Project Planner, you are responsible for driving excellence in project planning and scheduling across high-value and high-complexity projects, while supporting the continuous development of the planning discipline within Nexans.


Your key responsibilities include:


Strategic Planning & Tender Support


  • Provide expert planning input to strategic and complex tenders, including schedule development, risk analysis, and financial considerations

  • Review and clarify tender specifications to establish robust planning and control strategies

  • Coordinate and review planning contributions across the planning team to ensure alignment and consistency


Project Planning & Execution


  • Develop and maintain baseline schedules for complex and strategic EPC/EPCI projects in line with contractual obligations, client expectations, and internal procedures

  • Coordinate schedule updates with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, installation, and project management stakeholders

  • Maintain full understanding of project scope, critical paths, interfaces, and interdependencies

  • Perform advanced schedule analyses, forecasting, resource assessments, and risk/opportunity evaluations

  • Facilitate On-Time Delivery (OTD) processes and promote strong planning discipline within project teams

  • Prepare internal and external progress reporting in accordance with project and client requirements

  • Revise schedules and forecasts in response to scope changes, project developments, and emerging risks


Technical Leadership & Discipline Development


  • Mentor, coach, and support Project Planners and Senior Project Planners across the planning community

  • Ensure consistency, quality, and best practice application in schedules developed by the planning team

  • Act as escalation point and technical authority for complex planning and scheduling challenges

  • Support Project Managers and Project Directors in resolving schedule-related issues

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within planning methods, systems, standards, and tools

  • Contribute to competence development, training programs, and capability building within the planning discipline


YOUR STARTING POINT

  • University degree or equivalent relevant competence

  • Expert-level competence within project planning and scheduling

  • Typically more than 10 years of experience as Project Planner in relevant sectors such as offshore, energy, marine, infrastructure, or industrial projects

  • Strong understanding of project management principles, technical execution, and project economics

  • Extensive experience working in complex, multidisciplinary project organizations

  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, and related planning tools

  • Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to mentor, guide, and influence planning teams and stakeholders

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken; Norwegian is considered an advantage

  • Structured, proactive, and collaborative leadership approach
