Job summary

Dycom is seeking an on-site Project Specialist in Alabama to support our construction and telecom field teams. The role focuses on organizing project files, processing permits, and enabling accurate reporting and billing for multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has an associate’s degree or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, basic math, and solid computer skills including Google Workspace. Willingness to travel and pass background/drug checks is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable with basic math and reading project instructions.
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, PDFs); Google Workspace a plus.
• Stay organized and work independently with minimal guidance.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up new projects and keeping project files organized and up to date.
• Support project documentation, including permits, scheduling updates, and progress tracking.
• Review and prepare project paperwork for final closeouts.
• Track project activity and support accurate reporting and billing.
• Provide assistance to other project team members as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Support company policies, procedures, and safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Some travel may be required.
• All offers are contingent on successful completion of a background check and a drug test.

What you’ll do

What you’ll need

Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable with basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Ability to read and understand project instructions, work orders, and reports.
Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, word processing, PDFs). Google Workspace experience is a plus.
Ability to stay organized, manage tasks, and work independently with minimal guidance.
Valid driver’s license required.

Work Environment

Frequently sit for prolonged periods of time

The wage range for Specialist Project is $22.00 - $24.00.
