Job description

Procurement Specialist

San Antonio, TX

Build an Aviation Career You're Proud Of

At StandardAero, we use our ingenuity and know-how to find solutions for the simple to the most complex challenges in aviation. Together, we get the job done and done well. Our stability, resources, and respectful culture support you in building a solid career with a great team you can count on day in and day out for the long term.

As a Procurement Specialist, you'll manage sourcing, purchasing, supplier relationships, and procurement data to support site operations in an aircraft engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment. You'll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to secure competitive pricing, maintain quality and delivery requirements, improve procurement processes, and ensure materials are available to meet business needs.

What you'll do:
  • Obtain and review supplier quotations through formal and informal requests for quotation (RFQs), ensuring compliance with company and customer requirements, policies, and guidelines. Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best overall value while maintaining quality requirements, critical aerospace flowdown requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Initiate purchase orders and work with suppliers to monitor and expedite deliveries. Follow up to resolve delivery, quality, and cost issues; communicate product delivery concerns promptly across all levels of the organization; and coordinate with stakeholders to remove barriers to purchase order fulfillment.
  • Engage key stakeholders to obtain agreement and support for Supply Chain contract implementation and adherence. Continually identify opportunities to reduce material costs, secure reliable lead times, improve supplier quality and delivery performance, and strengthen procurement effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure purchasing activities support site operations, customer requirements, production schedules, and delivery commitments.
  • Update and maintain accurate pricing, master data, supplier information, and delivery tracking records in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and procurement systems. Develop and maintain an understanding of business unit and functional group processes, including the information and data those processes require and generate.
  • Collaborate with other business functions to gather, consolidate, and analyze data to develop business cases for process changes, supplier sourcing and negotiations, and make-versus-buy-versus-part-repair decisions. Use business acumen to support timely, well-informed decisions and build confidence in Supply Chain initiatives across the site.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory and procurement performance measures, including stock levels, inventory turns, aged inventory, due-date compliance, material shortages, and cost-saving opportunities. Identify trends and opportunities to improve inventory management, supplier performance, material availability, and procurement costs.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and prepare or assist with presentations of data and reporting for all levels of management. Communicate findings clearly to support operational decisions, purchasing strategies, process improvements, and supplier negotiations.
  • Understand and follow procurement, supplier sourcing, and supplier approval policies and procedures. Work with suppliers, staff, management, and other stakeholders to obtain required documentation and approvals. Review and recommend updates to company instructions, material policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and collaborate with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and leadership. Observe all applicable safety requirements, promptly report unsafe practices or conditions, and carry out other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience obtaining and evaluating supplier quotations, issuing purchase orders, and monitoring supplier deliveries.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and report business data.
  • Experience entering, updating, or maintaining purchasing, supplier, pricing, or inventory records in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) or procurement system.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate purchasing requirements, supplier issues, and delivery updates through written correspondence and verbal discussions.
  • Experience analyzing operational or purchasing data to identify discrepancies, trends, or opportunities for improvement.
Desired Skills:
