Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking a detail-oriented IT Specialist (Menu Management) to be the primary administrator for our Toast POS environment. You will own the build-out, maintenance, and integrity of digital menus across locations, ensuring accurate pricing and proper routing to kitchen printers.

You will bridge Culinary and IT, coordinating with site managers, chefs, servers, and managers to keep the revenue engine running smoothly.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of hands-on Toast POS experience (administrator level preferred).
• Strong understanding of cloud-based POS architecture and data sync between local hardware and the cloud.
• Ability to manage large databases of information (1,000+ items/modifiers) without errors.
• Experience troubleshooting network-related POS issues (printers, sync, offline mode).
• Ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally with chefs, servers, and managers.

Responsibilities

• Configure Toast backend: menu items, modifiers, pricing, tax rules.
• Maintain golden record for menu data and SKUs for clean BI reporting.
• Coordinate menu publishing with site managers to avoid live disruptions.
• Monitor data flow between Toast, PMS, OTter/Deliverect, and xtraCHEF inventory.
• Remotely configure Toast hardware and provide Tier 2 support for on-site issues.
• Build and test promotional logic and loyalty flows.
• Create guides for staff on Toast basics and end-of-day closes.
• Conduct UAT for menu launches ensuring KDS routing and receipts work.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented IT Specialist (Menu Management) to serve as the primary

administrator for our Toast POS environment. This role is the technical backbone of our Food and Beverage operations, responsible for the build-out, maintenance, and integrity of all digital menus across our portfolio.

You will ensure that what a guest sees on a mobile app, kiosk, or physical terminal is accurate,

priced correctly, and technically routed to the right kitchen printer. You are the bridge between our Culinary teams and our IT infrastructure, ensuring our “revenue engine” never misses a beat.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Execute all back-end configurations in Toast, including menu item creation, modifier nesting, pricing schedules, and tax rule application.
• Maintain the “golden record” for menu data, ensuring naming conventions and SKUs are consistent across all locations for clean reporting in our BI tools.
• Manage the publishing cycle for menu changes, coordinating with site managers to ensure updates don’t disrupt live service.
• Monitor and troubleshoot the data flow between Toast and our Property Management System (PMS), third-party delivery aggregator (Otter/Deliverect), and inventory software (xtraCHEF).
• Remotely configure and stage Toast hardware (Flex, Go 2, KDS, and Kitchen Printers) and provide Tier 2 technical support for on-site hardware failures.
• Build and test complex promotional logic, including “Happy Hour” triggers, promo codes, and loyalty reward redemption flows.
• Create and update how-to guides for restaurant staff on basic Toast functions, such as 86ing items, re-routing printers, and performing end-of-day closures.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for every menu launch to ensure that Kitchen Display System (KDS) routing and guest receipts are functioning exactly as intended.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2-3 years of hands‑on experience specifically with Toast POS (administrator level preferred).
• Strong understanding of cloud‑based POS architecture and how data syncs between local hardware and the cloud.
• Proven ability to manage large databases of information (1,000+ items/modifiers) without errors.
• Experience troubleshooting network‑related POS issues (printers dropping off, sync errors, offline mode).
• Ability to communicate effectively cross‑functionally with chefs, servers, and managers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with Hotel PMS integrations (Stayntouch, Opera, or Mews).
• Familiarity with inventory management software and how it pulls data from the POS.
• Basic knowledge of Excel/Google
