Job summary

Vitality is seeking a Personal Care Specialist in the Norfolk area to assist residents with daily activities and treatments per care plans. Focus is on dignity, choice, and meaningful engagement while adhering to facility policies and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, coordinating with care staff, and reporting any health concerns. Candidates should be at least 18, have strong English communication skills, and meet health requirements.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Meet state or provincial health related requirements.
  • Maintain any certification as required by state or provincial regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with performance of activities as indicated in service plans.
  • Assist residents with performance of simple treatments as indicated in service plans.
  • Assist residents with emotional health and/or problem behavioral issues as indicated in service plans.
  • Perform other services for residents as indicated in service plans (e.g., laundry and pet care).
  • Inform supervisor of current resident needs and preferences, and successful service approaches.
  • Observe and report resident problems to LPN (if on duty) or Medication Tech/Aid.
  • Attend and participate in onboarding, annual and in-service training and team member meetings, as requested.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Wellness Director.
